A few years ago, my Spirit Posse told me something about fear to help put it into perspective with my own power. They said fear is like the size of a sand flea in the palm of my hand. At times it can throw a big shadow, making it seem to be big and powerful. But in reality, it’s teeny tiny.
I think about that as I observe things that are going on in the world. I see people who are in fear, spreading more fear. I see people who are afraid of being controlled, trying to control others. I see people who are afraid of losing their power, trying to take away the power of others. It’s interesting… the hypocrisy (or is it irony?) of fear.
This is nothing new though! People have been plugging into fear, playing in it, trafficking in it, throughout our existence on this planet. And yet, the world has continued to exist, to move forward. Because while there are people plugging into fear, there are also people who aren’t!
You are more than the physical body you see in the mirror every day! You are a limitless, powerful soul! You are an expression of the Divine, no matter what you call that being, be it God, Allah, Source, the Universe, All That Is or anything else. What you believe the Divine to be is also who you are! Turn within and you’ll see, you’ll know. The Divine is within you. That’s where your truth is. That’s where your power is.
Some days it may seem like an uphill battle to stay centered in the truth of who you are. To stay centered in your power. To not plug into fear. That’s because you have your own internal fears that get triggered. And you also live in a world where there is fear. But once you are aware of who you are and get a sense of your power, you’ll wonder how you could have plugged into fear the way you have been. It just feels yucky in a way it didn’t before. You’ll also feel more motivated to turn within and clean up those things you’re carrying with you that keep you plugged into fear.
The world may always have people in it who continue to plug into fear and play in it. That’s their choice. But it doesn’t have to be yours! Don’t let anyone who is in fear, who is not standing in their power, hijack you from your power! Don’t let that sand flea intimidate you or make you forget your power! You are here to live on and with purpose. You are meant to play big in this lifetime. Don’t let your fear or anyone else’ fear hold you back!
