As I watched the beginning of the invasion in Ukraine, my heart felt heavy. I was wondering what I could do to help people that are on the other side of the world. So I started with what I know best – energy… more specifically love.
I have been spending time each morning surrounding people and places with love. I surround Ukraine, the Ukrainians, their president, government and military with love. I do the same with Russia. I surround world leaders with love. I even reach out to some individuals on a soul level and talk to them. I remind them of the light within them and that there are better ways to solve issues than war.
Why do this? How can it help?
When you surround someone with love, it creates a space around them, like an energetic warm blanket. In this space it can be easier to hear that small, still voice – their intuition. It’s a space where they can more easily tune into the divine truth within them – the truth they’ve pinched themselves off from. Those are two things you want people on both sides to be following and operating from, rather than fear.
When you surround someone with love, it’s not about controlling them or getting them to do what you want. They can still do as they like because they have free will. But love is the highest vibration energetically. Even the most fear-based or closed-off person will still feel that love to some degree. And sometimes that little bit can have a positive effect on them.
You can also surround a situation with love. All problems and situations are created at a fear-based level. This invasion was created out of someone’s fear of something. You can’t solve a problem at the level it was created at -anger, hurt, frustration, etc. You can’t overcome fear with more fear, anger with more anger, hurt with more hurt. You need to rise above that level to find a solution. Love is what overcomes fear. Surrounding a situation with love helps to energetically bring up the vibration of it. As the vibration goes up, doors open to more clarity, ideas, inspiration and options that weren’t accessible at lower vibrations.
Working with love also helps you. Does the invasion have you feeling anger, sadness, worry, anxiety, fear or uncertainty? Surrounding others with love helps you move from those fear-based emotions back to love. It helps bring your focus back on love. And the more you focus on it, the more momentum you build. You’re getting back into alignment more with your higher self. That also opens you up, making you more receptive to ideas and inspiration – ones that can help the situation. Rather than focused on the problem, you’ve now raised up to a level where you can focus on solutions!
I was wondering about that as I read about a grass roots movement involving Airbnb. Some people booked Airbnb stays in the Ukraine, not to stay there, but to get money to Ukrainians. The idea took off and within a few days there were almost $2 million in bookings. Airbnb pitched in and waived all fees with Ukraine bookings. And now the company is also helping those fleeing find free short-term housing. Was that initial idea someone who was open enough to pick up on an intuitive nudge? To see possibility where others didn’t? And look at what that idea sparked!
As you focus on love and center in it, you’ll feel good. Don’t feel bad or think it’s selfish to feel good as others are suffering. In empathizing with others, we tend to climb into their emotional boat with them. If you do that, you’re now in the same vibration, in the same boat with them. You’re no longer in a position to help them. By centering in love and not dropping down into the same fear-based emotion, you’re holding a space, a vibration for them to rise up to when they’re ready.
So as you watch the news about the invasion, know that there is something you can do, no matter where you are. One person standing in their power, operating from love, is more powerful than thousands of people operating from fear. That’s how powerful love is! That’s how powerful you are!
