First up in this series is Archangel Michael! Before I go any further, let’s go over what an archangel (pronounced ark-angel) is. Within the angelic realm, there are different levels of angels. The archangels are like the managers. They have an area of focus and other angels work with them on it. This focus does not limit them though. They can still work in any area. Archangel Michael’s specialty is overcoming and transmuting fear. He’s amazing at it too!
Archangel Michael is one of the more well-known angels in psychic, spiritual and new age circles. He’s mentioned in the Bible and is also known as St. Micheal in some religions. Many people work with him as they heal fear within themselves or help others overcome fear. If you want to work with him too, don’t worry, he is not limited by time and space. He can simultaneously help everyone and anyone who calls on him.
Characteristics and Tools
When you call on Archangel Michael, you can sense him immediately. He will show up in a way so you can easily pick up on him. His presence alone helps people feel safe, loved and empowered. He is associated with the color blue or a purplish-blue. If you call on him, you may see a flash of one of those colors. If I’m driving at night, I ask him to get me home safely. I will see a band of purplish-blue that looks like it’s been lightly painted along the side of the road and sometimes even in the middle of the road. That’s my sign he’s with me.
Along with his powerful presence, Archangel Michael has some awesome tools that he uses. He is known for his powerful sword of light. That baby can cut through anything like butter! I have asked him, for myself and clients, to use his sword to sever energy cords with people, addictions and situations. You can feel the difference as he goes around you and the cords fall away.
Another one of his tools is a powerful magnet. You can ask him to use it to pull out any energetic weaponry (words, thoughts, etc.) that has been thrown at you. He also has a vacuum that can suck up fear-based energies. When I vacuum, I ask Archangel Michael to use his vacuum also and we vacuum together, sucking up the physical and energetic dirt. My home always feels lighter afterwards!
As I’ve worked with Archangel Michael, I’ve discovered he has a great sense of humor! I know people probably don’t think about angels as being funny, but it makes perfect sense to me. Humor and laughter do wonders when it comes to shifting fear energy! I like to tell him jokes sometimes, even fart jokes! And he gets me laughing when I get too serious or am up in my head fussing about something.
He’s also great with kids! I have worked with a number of kids who see or are being bothered by ghosts. I have them ask Archangel Michael to come to them. The kid’s reactions are priceless! They’re usually quiet as they pick up on him, then they get a great big smile or say something like “wow!”. He helps them get rid of whatever is scaring them, so they feel safe. It also empowers them. I usually don’t hear about those kids being bothered by ghosts anymore!
Ways To Work With Archangel Michael
Archangel Michael is the first angel I became aware of when I started opening up psychically. It started with a ghost in my house, who toyed with me for 2 weeks before finally swooping over me in bed one night. It scared the sh*t out of me (my instructor told me after the fact that I had on some level invited this ghost in to test myself. Apparently, I was feeling my psychic Wheaties and wanted to take my abilities for a test drive!). That night was the last straw! The next morning, I got out my Chip Coffey book and opened it to the protection prayers at the back. The first one was the Lord’s Prayer. I said it and instantly felt energy surround me, helping me feel safe. The next prayer was about Archangel Michael. I said it, not knowing what to expect. As I stood there, my legs started feeling funny. They suddenly felt huge, like tree trunks. I looked down at them, they looked the same. I actually started to wonder if I was having a stroke! Then I walked into my living room and I felt like I was as tall as the ceiling and my body was huge. I remember thinking I felt like a gladiator. And in that instant, everything seemed to come together and I knew it was Archangel Michael! He communicated to me that he was making me feel big like that so I understood how powerful I really am and I didn’t have to be afraid anymore. That experience with him left a huge impression on me!
After that, I wanted to work with Archangel Michael more. As I learned more about energy, I worked on overcoming and healing fear within me. Being an empath, sometimes the energy in the world felt a bit much to me. There were days that I would ask Archangel Michael to lift me up above the muck and mire (fear energy) in the world. One morning when I asked that, it felt like there were suddenly hands under my armpits and I was being lifted up! As time went on and I understood my power more, I asked Archangel Michael to help me lift myself above the muck and mire. He makes me aware when I am getting into fear energy and reminds me of my power, helping me overcome the fear!
At some point, I started working with Archangel Michael every day. When I leave my house for the first time each day, I ask Archangel Michael to go with me, keeping me healthy and safe and to get me back home keeping me healthy and safe. On particularly cold days in winter, I tease him about putting on a hat and scarf to stay warm. One time when I said that, a vision flashed in my head of a man flinging a scarf around his neck! There’s his sense of humor!
One day, a few years after I first became aware of Archangel Michael, I was standing at my stove cooking dinner. Out of the blue I heard “will you help me fight demons?”. The voice was clear and calm. I knew it was him. It stopped me in my tracks though! “What? Fight demons? Me? I don’t know if I’m ready to do that.” After my encounter with that ghost, I wasn’t sure I wanted to face off with any demons. He put the question out there and didn’t do anything else. Sometime after that, I was reading a book about Jesus. It said when Jesus talked about demons, he was actually talking about fear, not some evil horned being. Something about that clicked within me and made sense. It also took me right back to Archangel Michael’s question. I sat with this new perspective for a few days and then told him “yes, I will help you fight demons”.
Since then, overcoming fear has become one of the focal points in the work that I do. There have been so many times when I hear about someone being in some state of fear and I feel Archangel Michael’s powerful energy, like it’s rising up inside me. He is calm, yet gung-ho about eradicating fear. His enthusiasm is contagious!! I start getting excited as I get messages about how to help, including things to do and say. While talking to others, I’ve had words come out of my mouth that surprise me! I know it’s me channeling him. He just has this amazing way of cutting through the fear (that sword of light), helping people feel safe and empowered. I’ve had clients say after a session that they wonder why they were ever afraid in the first place! He’s that good!
Archangel Michael also came through like gang busters for me when my Japanese host father passed away. When I found out he had passed, I started talking to him, asking if he could hear me and if he was ok. Initially, all I got was silence. Then I heard him. I told him to go into the light and he asked how. I told him to look for an angel. He asked how will he know it’s an angel. As I was trying to figure out how to answer him, it hit me. I told him “call for Archangel Michael. He’s my friend and you can trust him.”. About 15 seconds later I heard a calm, clear voice in my head say “I got him”. I knew my host-dad was with Archangel Michael and in good hands.
As you can see, there are many ways you can work with Archangel Michael! What I have shared with you is only a tip of the iceberg of my experiences with him. I hope you have a better idea of the different things he can do and how you can work with him. He is simply amazing! Writing this made me realize how much he has become a part of my life. And how many things I used to fear that are no longer scary to me. I’m so grateful for his presence, his help and all we have done together!
